COSRX

Category Korean skincare Market Singapore Measured 10 August 2026 Assistant 1 of 7 tracked

COSRX did not ask for this and is not a client. We ran it on a brand everyone in the category knows so you can check the result yourself.

Where you stand

Ten questions were asked. Four of them contained the word "COSRX", so being mentioned back proves nothing. The six that did not are the ones that decide whether a new customer finds you.

Brand-owned pages are being pulled into category answers

Three of the six discovery answers cited a brand's own website. Anua, Biodance and Beauty of Joseon. In two of those three the brand that owned the cited page was also named in the answer. Biodance was cited and not named, so this is a strong pattern rather than a rule.

cosrx.com was cited exactly once across all ten questions, on the one that already said the word "COSRX". Your own pages are not being retrieved for the questions where a new customer is deciding. That is a content and structure problem, not a product problem.

A Singapore publication is deciding a Singapore answer

The sunscreen question cited harpersbazaar.com.sg and the answer said in as many words that "Singapore beauty editors specifically highlight it". Local editorial is a reachable, and currently unclaimed, route into these answers.

What we cannot move

The part most providers leave out.

Three of the ten questions returned no citations at all

Both head-to-head comparisons and the reputation question came back with zero sources. Those answers came from what the model already holds, not from anything it went and read.

Publishing will not move them in the short term, and anyone who tells you it will is guessing. Only the category and constraint questions had live retrieval, and those are the addressable ones, and every action below is tied to one.

What to do

Ranked by expected value. Each one names the questions it targets and the evidence behind it. A free check carries three; a Core plan carries five, a Pro plan ten.

01

Build a barrier-repair moisturiser page that can be cited

The dry-skin question named AESTURA, ILLIYOON, Dr. Althea, Beauty of Joseon and Anua, and not COSRX. The answer justified its pick by pointing at a third-party ranking. COSRX has products that belong in that answer but no retrievable page framing them for the barrier-repair use case in the language the question uses.

Targets Q2 · evidence: allure.com cited, COSRX absent

02

Own the humid-climate sunscreen question locally

Beauty of Joseon took first and fourth place on the sunscreen question, supported by the Singapore edition of Harper's Bazaar. This is a market-specific answer decided by a market-specific publication. A page written for humid-climate daily wear, plus a push for local editorial coverage, targets the one question where geography is doing the work.

Targets Q3 · evidence: harpersbazaar.com.sg cited, COSRX absent

03

Make the sensitive-skin range legible as a range

The sensitive-skin question returned eight brands, each with a named product line: "Madagascar Centella line", "Atobarrier 365 line", "R.E.D Blemish line". The assistant is reasoning in lines, not products. COSRX was not named. Grouping the relevant SKUs into a clearly named, clearly described line is the structural change that makes a brand eligible for this answer.

Targets Q4 · evidence: 8 competitors named by product line, COSRX absent

How this was measured

AssistantOne of the four general-purpose assistants we track, on its standard consumer web app, not a developer API. Which one is named in your own report.
Questions10, each asked in its own separate session
Session stateMemory off, no chat history, no custom instructions
MarketSingapore. The assistant returned SGD pricing and local retailers unprompted

Memory off matters. Asked the same question on a signed-in account with memory on, the same assistant put a different brand first and cited a different set of sources. A reading taken in your own account tells you what AI says to you, not to a stranger deciding what to buy.

AI answers vary between sessions and change over time. This is a reading taken on one date, not a permanent score. Competitor brands appear because the assistant named them; we report that as fact and do not evaluate their products. See Method & Disclaimer.

What a full report adds

This check is 10 questions on one assistant. Core is 75 questions across 4 assistants with 5 ranked actions and a page rewrite brief. Pro is 150 questions across 7, with a competitor teardown, 10 actions, and a piece of content written for you each month, tracked month over month so you can see whether any of it worked.

The full monthly format is published too, built from the same real reading: the COSRX monthly report.
